Ragi (finger millet) is an excellent source of calcium and iron. It helps maintain bone health and prevents osteoporosis. It a good source of dietary fiber and is gluten free.
Ragi (Finger Millet) Idli
Rich in calcium, iron, amino acids and fiber
Ingredients
Ragi millet – 1 cup
Idli rice – 1.5 cup
Whole urad dal – 1/2 cup
Fenugreek seeds – 1 tsp
Sea Salt – 1 tbsp or to taste
Instructions
Soak ragi millet, idli rice, urad dal and fenugreek seeds for 6 hours and grind to smooth consistency.
Let it sit to ferment for 8 to 10 hours.
Method for Idli:
Grease the idli plates and pour the ragi batter.
Cook them in idli cooker for 15 minutes
Remove carefully with a spoon and serve hot with any spicy chutney.
